“At first glance, you may think you have tumbled across a collection of stories about kings and generals, bandits and monks, the lonely mountains and the hardships of poor farmers.
All of this is true. But what you have really found is a collection of inspiration and isdom by one of Korea's foremost Seon (Zen) masters.”

In this new collection of thirty-three stories, one of Korea's greatest Seon masters shows us our inherent potential and teaches us how to live with dignity and courage in any circumstances.

Appealing to both children and adults, these stories are drawn from the rich Buddhist tradition of Korea and reveal the unseen dimensions of our lives while
guiding the reader on the path of enlightenment.

In 1999 Korean Seon(Zen) Master Daehaeng gave a Dharma talk in the city of Ratingen, Germany.

It was the first European public appearance of this renowned Seon Master, and more than 2000 people came to listen to her teachings.

In this talk she put a special emphasis on the true meaning of religion as a path to the universal truth. As she explained to the predominantly western audience,
this eternal truth cannot be found by searching in the outside world.
It is only by touching the deepest reality of ourselves in the midst of our daily lives that we can find it. This book contains the complete Dharma talk translated into erman, together with the original Korean.
It also includes Daehaeng Kunsunim’s interesting teachings to questions regarding the keeping of religious commandments.
